About Us
St. Augustine's is a liturgical and sacramental faith community that’s grounded in catholic tradition and committed to progressive, reformed thought and action. This means our worship is guided by ancient practice but our beliefs aren’t stuck there.
St. A’s was founded in 1961 as a racially integrated and economically diverse congregation and this heritage continues to guide our Christian understanding of invitation, hospitality, and inclusion. We welcome all people regardless of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, marital status, nationality, race, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status into the life and ministry of the church.
Join us for Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 9:45 AM. Help out in our Food Pantry the second and fourth Monday of every month. Find us on Union Street, just south of Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor.
Our mission statement – St. Augustine of Canterbury, an Episcopal Church in the Anglican Communion, is a spiritually rich, family-oriented, inclusive congregation committed to share God’s love to all through worship, service, and study, led by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our Baptismal Covenant.
